Barça can buy players on summer

Fifa has confirmed that Barcelona is able to sign new players this year, but they could not register them before the end of their transfer ban next January.

Barça can buy players on summer

Last April, and following a year-long investigation into Barcelona’s transfer activity, The Catalans where found guilty of violating Article 19 of the FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players.

Due to this violation, Barcelona was imposed with a two windows transfer ban that would prevent Barcelona from buying or selling players and also was fined CHF 450000 along with the Spanish Football Association also found guilty in the transfer registrations and fined CHF 500000.

Barcelona appealed the decision and FIFA temporary suspended the ban, allowing Barça to make business as usual during last summer transfer window, including the sign of Luis Suarez. In August the Appeals Committee rejected the club’s appeal.

The Catalans however announced that they wold appeal FIFA’s decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport on December 5th, but they were unsuccessful.

But this ban does not mean that they could not take advantage of potential transfer targets or actually purchasing the players on the condition that they were not registered before January 2016.

This declaration came after the reports of Barcelona interest to bring Juan Mata among others for the 2015-15 La Liga season.
