Dani Alves will leave in 2015

Confirmation on Dani Alves leaving Barcelona in 2015 came by the club’s sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta. Also it’s has been revealed that Barcelona had a late summer bid for Mateo Kovacic.

Dani Alves will leave in 2015

Zubizarreta posted in Barça’s official twitter account the message about the decision to keep Alves on his last year of contract, confirming also that this season is Alve’s last at Camp Nou:

“We are very happy that Dani Alves has stayed here. Both sides have agreed that his contract will finish in 2015”

With the reputation of Alves as one of the most important attacking full-backs in Europe, it seems a bit indifferent the way to end his days at the Camp Nou.

The Brazilian international signed in 2008 from Sevilla for a fee of around €28 million, and with a final score of four La Liga triumphs, two Copa del Rey trophies and Two Champions League.

Samule Marsden of SPORT publication thinks that Barcelona will feel the exit of the veteran Alves:

“Alves definitely leaving next summer… Barça will desperately need one of Montoya or Douglas to step up.”

Luis Enrique attempted to sign with Kovacic at the last minute, but was unable to finish the offer worth of €20 million. Inter is trying to break back into the Serie A, and then is trying to keep every bright talent in the team.

Still with only 20 years, the Croatian could fit perfectly in Barça’s profile of acquiring younger talents. For example, Munir El Haddadi and Rafinha are showing signs of promise under team coach Luis Enrique this season.

Barça will try with the options in their hands, but an appeal pending with the Court of Arbitration for Sport, will be prevented from conducting transfer business during 2015.
